Here’s what’s happening in Al Roker’s neck of the woods: A six-story, six-bedroom townhouse is for sale at 163 E. 82nd. St., just a few doors down from the “Today Show’s” famous weatherman.
The 6,700-square-foot home — which comes with a custom steam room and sauna, a wine cellar, three wood-burning fireplaces, an elevator and a roof terrace — is now asking a mere $20 million, down from its original $21 million price.
Built from the ground up in 2009 and 19 feet wide, its charms include a chef’s kitchen, floor-to-ceiling windows, crown moldings, reclaimed Russian oak floors and pocket doors.
But the home’s crowning glory is its outdoor oasis: 2,000 square feet of alfresco space over four areas, including a double-tiered, landscaped garden; a French-style terrace on the fifth floor; and a roof deck with its own outdoor kitchen.
It was designed by architect Steven Harris; the listing broker is Corcoran’s Ileana Lopez-Balboa.
