Jared Kushner’s first cousin Jonathan buys $12M NYC duplex

Real Estate

Kushner Real Estate Group’s Jonathan Kushner, a first cousin of Jared Kushner, and his cookbook author wife Kim, bought a $12 million, seven-bedroom duplex on the Upper East Side, according to city property records.

They paid the full asking price for the prewar pad, on the 10th and 11th floors of 33 E. 70th St., off of Fifth Avenue by Central Park and the Frick Collection. The seller was Kim Saperstein, the daughter of a former Bear Stearns financier, and her former boyfriend, Andrew Frankel — who’s now married to Tom Brady’s ex, Bridget Moynahan.

The renovated 6,000-square-foot home started off as a $5.1 million purchase in 2011 by Saperstein and Frankel. Next, they tacked on a $6.2 million unit above in 2015.

The home opens to a gallery that leads to a large living and dining room with 10-foot ceilings and a gas fireplace, overlooking the private gardens of landmarked mansions. There’s also a private study and an eat-in chef’s kitchen with a table that can seat eight people, according to the listing.

A main bedroom suite boasts double bathrooms and a “bedroom-sized” dressing area with custom built-ins.

The home also features wide-plank oak floors, recessed lighting, integrated sound and oversize windows. The 11-story building, which dates to 1929, comes with a gym and bike storage.

Jonathan’s father Murray Kushner is brothers with Jared’s father Charles. In 2004, Charles pleaded guilty to tax evasion, illegal campaign contributions and witness retaliation after he hired a hooker to have sex with his brother-in-law and sent a compromising video of the tryst to his sister, Esther, as Jared Kushner describes in his current book, “Breaking History: A White House Memoir.”

Charles Kushner went to prison for 14 months in Alabama and was later pardoned by his son’s father-in-law, Donald Trump.

The listing broker was John Burger of Brown Harris Stevens.
