This sweet, sweet fantasy house has sold — albeit for significantly under its asking price, and for some $1.35 million less than what its A-list owner bought it for in 2021.
Pop music icon Mariah Carey, 54, has offloaded her peach of a Georgia property on the last day of May, almost 10 months after listing it, the Wall Street Journal first reported.
After weathering much of the pandemic at the nine-bedroom, nine-bathroom behemoth, the “All I Want For Christmas” songbird put it on the market this past September, initially for an asking price of $6.5 million.
At the time of the sale, that number had dropped by a bit over $1.5 million, to $4.99 million.
In the end, the stately manse closed for $4.3 million, $600,000 less than the final listed ask.
Carey bought it for $5.65 million.
The house sold to Michael Dickey, CEO of Modern Luxury Media, who plans to make the gated, 4-acre estate his family’s primary residence.
“The home sold to a local family that knows how special this property is and is looking forward to enjoying all of its amenities for years to come,” said Shanna Bradley of Ansley Real Estate, the Atlanta-area affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, who represented the seller. “Both Ms. Carey and the buyer are very pleased with the outcome of this sale.”
In all, the abode measures in at over 12,500 square feet and includes a heated pool, a pool house, an entertainment pavilion, a three-car garage, tennis courts and a “charming series of gardens,” as The Post previously reported.
The main house’s interior includes a workout room with a mirror wall, a home theater, a guest suite, a fireplace-equipped living room and, on the third floor, a small recording booth.
The primary suite also boasts a fireplace, as well as a walk-in closet, an ensuite bath and a dressing room.
