The plastic fantasy life is just one lucky application away.
Ahead of the “Barbie” movie’s July 21 release, Airbnb is offering two humans the opportunity to be a doll for a day at a real-world version of the toy’s iconic abode, her splashy, pink Malibu DreamHouse.
“This summer, it’s Ken’s turn to take hosting for a spin,” reads an in-character Airbnb press release about the ” newly renovated and iconic” oceanfront California mansion.
“While everyone’s favorite doll makes her live-action film debut in ‘Barbie,’ Ken (played by Ryan Gosling) is handing over the keys and hosting an overnight stay.”
Since “Ken’s thing is beach, not math,” according to the announcement, the lucky individuals chosen to take up residence at the fantasy crib will enjoy their time there free of charge, the release explained.
(Travel to and from Malibu, however, is not included.)
The dream deal is only available for two individual, one-night stays on July 21 and July 22, with up to two guests at a time allowed.
“Everyone in Barbie Land” is invited to shoot their shot at the opportunity to sleep over in the aggressively pink chateau; applications open on July 17 at 1 p.m. ET.
In addition to getting a no-charge Airbnb, the winning guests will also be allowed to take “a spin through Ken’s awesome wardrobe” and will be gifted a pair of yellow-and-pink Impala skates and surfboards.
The property boasts amenities including a large infinity pool, outdoor disco dance floor, panoramic views, easy beach access and Ken-themed decor — previously when it was listed on Airbnb in 2019, it was Barbie who was the purported host.
For everyone who doesn’t win Ken’s short-term-rental lotto, the toy-sized version of Barbie’s DreamHouse is widely available from online retailers for as low as $194.95.
An official MEGA “Barbie” The Movie DreamHouse Building Set is also available for $150 for those who’d rather own a version of the house inspired by the movie, not the franchise by which the movie was inspired.
The highly anticipated “Barbie” film, directed by Greta Gerwig, stars Margot Robbie in the title role and features America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman and Will Ferrell.
