‘Architectural marvel’ rotating mansion lists for $5.3M in San Diego

Real Estate

Life is truly a carnival at home in this mobile manse.

For those among us who wish to live out eternity in a combination home and carousel, what luck: A TV-worthy rotating estate has hit the market in California.

The revolving, HGTV-featured compound is listed with Melvina Selfani of Century 21 Affiliated and is currently seeking $5.3 million.

“Welcome to the one and only rotating home in San Diego!” declares the listing

“This unique and innovative property that can be best described as an architectural marvel showcasing an incredible combination of luxury, functionality, and technological advancements.”

The highest home atop the city’s Mount Helix, the property is defined by its over 5,000-square-foot second-floor (composed of indoor living space, rotating deck and fixed deck), which is capable of rotating a full 360 degrees thanks to “cutting-edge design.”

In addition to being a great gimmick, the unique feature also allows residents to optimize natural light and adjust their surroundings as they see fit, the listing notes.

And should they crave an unmoving space, there’s 2,100-square-feet of fixed living room downstairs, on the first floor.

Also on the ground level is a non-mobile “work bench area,” recreation room, full bath, kitchenette and a turntable-equipped two-car garage, so vehicles can also join in on the rotating fun (albeit only up to 180 degrees).

In all the address — set on an over 25,000-square-foot lot — has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and multiple terraces.

Although its key attribute is a rather nostalgically futuristic, “Jetsons”-esque form of tech, it also has modern outfittings, including 43 solar panels, fire and earthquake protection, smart home technology and multiple security systems.

On the grounds there are 11 mature fruit trees, various outdoor lounge areas and tiered stretches of grass, not to mention the panoramic views of the city below.

The home’s facade is covered in sleek reflective panels.
