An idyllic contemporary stay, known as the Birdbox in the Norwegian countryside, has gone up on Airbnb.
Boasting heavenly views of the snowy Blegja and the Førdefjord mountain range, this hidden, one-of-kind property is the perfect getaway for the holidays.
Made up one bedroom and one bathroom, the listing features a double bed, as well as a seating area facing a circular window that looks out to picture-perfect vistas.
“Feel close to nature in ultimate comfort,” the listing notes. “Feel the true Norwegian countryside calmness of birds chirping, rivers flowing and trees in the wind.”
Activities in the area include swimming in the river in the summer, hiking the surrounding mountains and meditating, the listing adds.
Rates currently run at $381 per night. But prices are mostly determined by season.
“There is a minimalist bathroom set up in the old summer-barn next to the Birdbox which used to house dairy cows in the summer months,” the listing adds.
The Birdbox is about 15 minutes from the nearest town — so it feels like you will be staying in the middle of nowhere. And it is about three hours north of Bergen — a city on Norway’s southwestern coast.
“This was an incredible experience! Worth every penny! The bed was big and comfy, it was warm inside the box and cozy,” one past guest wrote in a review, adding, “a few things to know: it is on a working farm with lots of sheep so you will need good footwear because there is poop all over the path.”
“Amazing views and relaxation at Birdbox,” another wrote. “Would recommend to any couple looking to get away for a one of a kind ‘glamping’ experience in Norway.”
