Once home to both the modernist artist Georgia O’Keeffe and the business magnate Paul Allen, this sprawling property is looking for a new owner — for $15 million.
The New Mexico estate boasts a total of 21 bedrooms and 26 bathrooms spread over multiple buildings. It first listed for $22.6 million in 2021 — and is now available at a significant discount.
Located in Santa Fe’s historic Eastside, this 20-acre compound offers not just a unique adobe abode with a history of celebrated owners — but also extensive, landscaped grounds and a commercial space for conferences.
First built in the 1930s, 4018 Old Santa Fe Trail — or “Sol Y Sombra,” meaning sun and shade in Spanish — was constructed for one Dr. and Mrs. Harold Corbusier, but was most famously occupied by the iconic landscape painter Georgia O’Keeffe and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.
O’Keeffe, who died in 1986, when she was 98 years old, lived at the property until her death, Dirt reported.
After the painter’s passing, the property was sold to a Texas businessman and his wife, who planted a Bodhi tree in the backyard with seeds given to them by the Dalai Lama.
The seeds, Dirt reported, were said to be from the tree Buddha sat under while gaining enlightenment.
Allen, who passed away in 2018, last owned the address — and it remains one of the few properties within his extensive profile that hasn’t since sold.
The Pueblo-style main house has six bedrooms, a library, multiple living and dining areas, and a solarium.
There’s an elevator to access the upper floor, and the building is connected via a covered walkway to an adjoining structure containing a second kitchen, a cinema, more bedrooms and a patio.
Four fireplaces pepper the property, including one in a bathroom.
There’s a catering kitchen-equipped conference and event center, with two guest houses and a lodge to accommodate visitors, as well as 10 parking spaces in the detached garage.
Elsewhere, there’s a wisteria-covered grill area, an aspen grove, a rose garden and greenhouse containing the Bodhi tree.
The “lush grounds and peaceful setting make this home truly one of the finest Eastside estates,” agent Paul Duran, who holds the listing with fellow Keller Williams agent Kelly Allen, told The Post.
