Here’s how much it costs to rent Ed Sheeran’s Brooklyn triplex

A year after renting one of the priciest pads in Brooklyn, red-headed English crooner Ed Sheeran is vacating — and the luxe apartment in the celebrity-studded building is again for rent.

This time, the rent for the 3,200-square-foot four-bedroom triplex on the Brooklyn Heights waterfront is $38,000 a month — up from the $36,000 that Sheeran paid. His was the priciest Brooklyn rental of 2023.

But now, the rental “commands a higher figure,” listing agent Sarah Williams, founder and CEO of SOCIETE Real Estate, told The Post.

The triplex sits in a condominium development, Pierhouse at Brooklyn Bridge Park, known for its celebrity clientele. Most recently, rapper Kendrick Lamar bought a place there late last fall, paying $8.6 million for his own four-bedroom triplex.

The sun-drenched apartment for rent, at the intersection of Dumbo and Brooklyn Heights, comes with a 12-month lease and is offered furnished. The listing went live Monday, as first reported by the Real Deal.

In the city, “rental inventory is tight,” Williams said. She expects that the unit’s renter will be “someone who is looking to try New York before they buy, or somebody who is going to rent until they find the right place to buy.”

Williams said she has had inquiries from people interested in purchasing the unit, but it is not for sale.

Williams touts the vast outdoor space. Each of the two living floors has a terrace, while the top floor is 1,500 outdoor square feet with postcard views of Lower Manhattan.

The 100-plus unit Pierhouse development, by Toll Brothers, opened in 2014. The unit originally sold for a little more than $6 million in 2018 to an anonymous buyer.

The Pierhouse is connected to the glittering 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, so the renter will be entitled to use all of the hotel’s 5-star amenities.

Inside, the apartment is filled with “only the most exceptional materials,” the listing reads, with high-end brand-name everything and a “six-figure investment into designed furniture.” The four bedrooms plus a den are on the lowest level, with a kitchen/eating/lounge spaces above that, topped by the terrace, with a dining table and grill.

“The owner designed the apartment for himself, and everything is of the highest quality,” Williams said.

The record for Brooklyn rentals appears to be $40,000 a month. A penthouse at 67 Livingston St. rented two years ago for that sky-high figure.

As for Sheeran, 32, a Grammy award winner four times over, he was embroiled last year in copyright-infringement lawsuit, accused of cribbing chord progressions and other musical elements for his song “Thinking Out Loud” from Marvin Gaye’s iconic “Let’s Get It On.” Last May, Sheeran won the lawsuit.

Sheeran has two toddler daughters with his wife Cherry Seaborn, who was recently diagnosed with cancer after a tumor appeared in her arm. The family has a mansion in Sheeran’s native Suffolk, England — a 16-acre property called Sheeranville, that includes a library, a gym, a pool — and even an enormous treehouse.
