Count Oprah and Julia Roberts as neighbors on this exclusive Florida island accessible only by boat

Real Estate

An opulent estate in one of the nation’s wealthiest enclaves has hit the market — and you’ll need a boat to get there.

Located in Miami’s hyper-exclusive Fisher Island, this 9,400-plus-square-foot mansion offers a rare opportunity to live in the elite community, which consistently ranks among America’s richest ZIP codes, the Daily Mail reports. Fisher Island has hosted the likes of A-listers Oprah and Julia Roberts.

The abode — located across Biscayne Bay from mainland Miami, in the Valencia Estates enclave — can only be reached by boat or private plane.

Built in 2007, the six-bedroom, nine-bathroom retreat is seeking $27.99 million. When it last hit the market, in 2012, it sought $16.9 million, according to Zillow

In addition to offering its buyer an address on the much-sought-after 216-acre barrier island, the property also grants its owner access to the enclave’s various amenities, such as “private beaches, tennis courts, fine dining, and more,” the listing notes.

As well, the residence also comes with its own three-car garage, a sauna, a fireplace and an in-ground pool, according to the listing.

Inside, the aesthetic is Parisian, highlights of which are a winding grand staircase, a double-height main living room, a library, colorfully appointed bedrooms and an open plan kitchen with an island and dazzling light-green cabinetry.

There are numerous areas for al fresco entertaining — a sprawling covered terrace on the second floor and a backyard kitchen among them.

The listing is held by Tatyana Ionin of Coldwell Banker Realty.

Other deep-pocketed residents there over the years have included the Vanderbilt family, who once owned the entire island. It then served as William K. Vanderbilt II’s winter estate.

For members of the public unable to afford the area’s delirious real estate price tags, there are some public amenities, including the tony Fisher Island Club, a spa and several restaurants, and a ferry that will bring them there to access them.
