For Gen Zers and millennials, sex sells out for homeownership.

Gen Z is happy to give up sex if it means meeting this one huge life goal.

Overall, more than a quarter of Brits would forgo sex for a whole year if it meant they’d finally have enough money to put down a deposit on a house.

Gen Zers are even more interested in going celibate to be able to afford a house.

That’s according to audio erotica platform Bloom Stories, which surveyed more than 2,000 UK adults to find out what people are willing to give up sex for, reported Metro UK.

Half of adults in this generation would give up sex if affording a home was the end result.

This comes as the majority of Gen Z adults (60%) worry they might never own a home, according to a survey conducted by Clever Real Estate.

But homeownership isn’t the only thing that Gen Z would trade sex for.

About a third of Gen Z would stop having sex for a pay rise at work, while just over a quarter would abstain if it meant getting a promotion.

Previous reports have shown that Gen Z is less interested in sex in general and also in a more precarious financial situation than older generations.

But millennials were even more interested in being celibate to gain upward mobility.

Only about 32% of adults aged 35 to 44 would choose to remain sexually active over a house deposit, pay rise or promotion.

Older adults reported being more interested in continuing their active sex lives than furthering themselves financially or in their careers.

Of those 45 and older, just under half would choose to have sex rather than buy a home.

When looking at adults of all ages, there was a gender divide.

Men were much more likely to refuse to give up sex. Forty-five percent of men said they couldn’t live without intercourse for a year regardless of the reason — and only 23% of women agreed.
