Hunter Biden has a new Malibu rental with an art studio, according to reports.
The 51-year-old, who detailed his battle with cocaine and alcohol addictions in his book “Beautiful Things,” moved into the pad with his wife, South African model and filmmaker Melissa Cohen, and their 1-year-old son, Beau, he told Artnet earlier this month.
The rental was listed for $20,000 a month in April, and the listing was removed on May 10, two months ago, signaling that a rental agreement had been reached (though TMZ reported that the rental began four months ago when the property was first listed).
Hunter, son of President Joe Biden, told Artnet News that he wakes up at 5 a.m. each day, stops by the kitchen to make a cup of coffee and heads to the garage, which has been converted to an art studio with a tabletop for painting.
“In the new house, the studio occupies a converted three-car garage, with a brick floor and a skylight,” Artnet described the space.
Biden is currently pursuing artistic endeavors with Soho-based art dealer Georges Bergès, a venture that has raised ethical questions about profits on his pricey paintings.
The 3,000-square-foot, four-bedroom, two-bathroom home was purchased in 2019 for $3.34 million. The house has an open floor plan, solid oak floors, French doors and 180-degree ocean views, according to Realtor.com.
The home also features a well-appointed kitchen, an indoor-outdoor living room with pocket doors and a great room with a vaulted ceiling and a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, according to the listing.
In addition, the 0.7-acre lot has a stone patio, a built-in barbecue and a pool with a Baja shelf and a hot tub.
Rajiv Prem Chandiramani and Vicki C. Narwani are listed as the current owners of the house. Previous owners of the house include Chip and Pepper apparel co-founder Chip Foster.
Hunter recently left a $5.4 million Venice Beach house — which was guarded by the Secret Service — that cost an estimated $25,000 per month and which he found after living in Hollywood Hills, The Post reported. The new rental is also guarded by the Secret Service, TMZ has reported.
In October 2020, the Post reported on emails from a laptop, allegedly sent from a Ukrainian executive to the president’s son. The story was blocked on Facebook and Twitter, prompting questions about censorship.
Hunter Biden, whose full name is Robert Hunter Biden, was also scrutinized for his dealings in China, Kazakhstan, Romania, Mexico and in connection with money laundering allegations. President Biden has called allegations against his son a “smear campaign” and “Russian misinformation.”
The Wilmington, Delaware, native’s mother and sister were killed in a car crash soon after he was born, and his brother Beau died of brain cancer in 2015. Hunter was previously married to Kathleen Buhle, with whom he shares three daughters. He also dated his widowed sister-in-law Hallie Biden and has a son with Lunden Alexis Roberts, a former stripper.
