Title Insurance and Deed Theft: What You Need to Know #realestateinvesting #homeownership

Tips
Title insurance does not protect you from deed theft. It only covers issues that existed before you bought the property. Fraud that happens after closing is a completely different risk.

And those “title lock” services you’ve heard about? They don’t actually lock anything. A new deed can still be recorded at any time. These services only send alerts — and the FTC warns they’re not real insurance at all.
